DEXA Scan

Also known as DXA · Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry

A low-radiation scan that maps body composition into lean mass, fat mass and bone density — the clinical gold standard for tracking peptide outcomes.

Definition

Dual-Energy X-ray Absorptiometry uses two beams of low-dose X-rays to distinguish bone, lean tissue and fat. It yields region-specific lean mass, total and visceral fat, and bone-mineral density. Clinicians use baseline and month-3 DEXAs to confirm muscle-preservation protocols (P2) are working and to detect visceral-fat shifts on Tesamorelin or SCULPT.
