ApoB
Also known as Apolipoprotein B
The primary atherogenic protein in blood — a better cardiovascular-risk marker than LDL alone.
Definition
Apolipoprotein B is present on every atherogenic lipoprotein (VLDL, IDL, LDL, Lp(a)) — one ApoB molecule per particle. Because atherosclerosis is driven by particle count rather than cholesterol content, ApoB is a more accurate cardiovascular-risk marker than LDL-cholesterol. Modern lipid panels increasingly include it; we recommend it as part of the comprehensive longevity workup.

LDL CholesterolLow-Density Lipoprotein
The cholesterol carried on low-density lipoproteins — the traditional cardiovascular-risk marker, increasingly supplemented by ApoB.
BiomarkerHDL CholesterolHigh-Density Lipoprotein
The cholesterol carried on high-density lipoproteins — associated with cardiovascular protection but no longer directly targetable.
BiomarkerTriglycerides
Blood fats that reflect dietary and metabolic patterns — elevated values are a sensitive early marker of insulin resistance.
