Definition
Thymosin-β4 is a naturally occurring 44-amino-acid peptide that regulates the actin cytoskeleton and cellular migration. TB-500 is the synthetic fragment that retains most of the biological activity. In clinical practice, 'TB-500' and 'Thymosin-β4' are used somewhat interchangeably; purists reserve 'Thymosin-β4' for the full-length native molecule.
