BMI
Also known as Body Mass Index
A screening calculation (weight/height²) used to categorise body size — useful at population level, crude at the individual level.
Definition
BMI is weight in kilograms divided by height in metres squared. Values under 18.5 are underweight; 18.5–24.9 normal; 25–29.9 overweight; 30+ obese. It's a population-screening tool that doesn't distinguish muscle from fat, which limits its precision for individuals — particularly athletic or muscular members. Waist circumference, waist-to-hip ratio and DEXA-measured body fat give better individual resolution.

A low-radiation scan that maps body composition into lean mass, fat mass and bone density — the clinical gold standard for tracking peptide outcomes.
Clinical ConceptVisceral FatVisceral Adipose Tissue
Fat stored around internal organs — metabolically active, tied to cardiovascular risk, and the target of Tesamorelin and SCULPT.
Clinical ConceptMetabolic Syndrome
A cluster of five conditions — central obesity, hypertension, dyslipidaemia, hyperglycaemia, low HDL — that together multiply cardiovascular risk.
