Definition
Gastric emptying is regulated by gut hormones, stretch receptors and nutrient sensing. GLP-1 receptor agonists slow emptying, extending the satiety signal after a meal. For most patients this is therapeutic; for 40–70%, it produces dose-limiting nausea, bloating or constipation during titration. BPC-157 is the most common adjunct for persisting GI side effects.
