Definition
LL-37 is a 37-amino-acid antimicrobial peptide derived from the cathelicidin family, expressed by neutrophils and epithelial cells. It has broad-spectrum antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal activity, plus significant immune-modulatory roles in wound healing and mucosal defence. Investigational for chronic infection and wound-healing indications.
